Happy International Women's Day!
“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” — Michelle Obama
International Women's Day (IWD) has been observed since the early 1900's and on the 8th of March every year, we come together to honor the achievements and growth of women from all walks of life.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, Sigi Skin has partnered with Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT) to provide opportunities for underprivileged women to earn a living, as well as assisting them in gaining financial independence. Joining hands with DOT, Sigi Skin has pledged to donate 10% of its profits from 1 - 8 March to the organisation.
This isn't Sigi Skin's first International Women's Day, and it means a lot more to them than just celebrations and festivities. To find out what exactly, the ladies in the Sigi Skin team gathered together to discuss their thoughts on womanhood and what inspires them.
In this entry, we focus on the personal relevance of International Women's Day and how one can share their wisdom, expertise, or ideas to help other women.

“Calmly finding solutions and guiding my team through what they are facing” - Xenia
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Don’t be afraid to speak your mind - everyone has a different way of thinking and your’s might not necessarily be wrong” — Kelly
“Don’t climb mountains so that people can see you. Climb mountains so that you can see the world.” — Sarah
“Treat others as you would like to be treated.” — Taryn
“Do what is right, not what is easy” — Xenia
How can you contribute your wisdom, expertise or ideas to empower other women?
“I can empower other women by spreading positivity and good vibes through being kind. I believe there are too many women putting down other women out there, which should never be the case. Women support women!” — Kelly
“Celebrate the fact that all women, at any age or in any situation, have the power to be beautiful - all it takes is a little encouragement. Encourage women to practice self-care as it is an investment in yourself. Whether it’s pampering yourself with a facial treatment or even the smallest thing like choosing a great lip color, do a little something for yourself every day.” — Sarah
“By being a cheerleader. I think it is important to celebrate the accomplishments of other women. We should never feel frightened by another woman's accomplishments; our own success is unaffected by the success of others. When we congratulate another woman on her accomplishments, it encourages them to push beyond their comfort zone and consider options for success that they would not have considered before.” — Taryn
“Providing opportunities and mentorship to women. Men are generally chosen for projects and roles based on their potential whereas women are chosen based on prior experience - we should give women the chance to prove themselves, even if they do not have relevant experience before.” — Xenia
Thus, as advocates of this significant day, the Sigi Skin team would like to wish all our readers a Happy International Women’s day.
