Here's How You Can Identify What Your Skin Type Is!

It's normal to be unsure what your skin type is, but knowing what it is will help you better understand your skin and what it needs.

Here's 2 ways that you can do to find out which your skin belongs to:

1. Bare-faced Method

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser then gently pat it dry and wait 30 minutes.

Normal Skin: iIf your skin feels hydrated and comfortable, but not oily, you likely have normal skin.

Dry Skin: If it feels tight and is flaky or scaly, you likely have dry skin.

Combination Skin: If the shine is only in your T-Zone, you probably have combination skin.

Oily Skin: If your skin looks shiny, you have oily skin.

2. Blotting Sheets Method

After washing your face with a gentle cleanser, pat it dry and allow it to rest 30 minutes, press blotting sheets to various areas of your face then look at the markings.

Normal Skin: If you only see minimal oil from every area of your face, you most likely have normal skin.

Dry Skin: If they absorb little to no oil, then you probably have dry skin.

Combination Skin: If the sheets show only a small amount of oil from your T-Zone, you have combination skin.

Oily Skin: If the sheets reveal an abundance of oil in all areas of the face, you have oily skin.

What are some characteristics of each skin type?

Normal Skin: Normal skin is well-balanced - not too dry or too oily. Those with normal skin are not typically prone to breakouts or flakiness and tend to have a balanced t-zone.

Dry Skin: Dry skin is generally rough, scaly, flaky, itchy or irritated with an overall dehydrated look and feel.

Combination Skin: Combination skin has areas that are both dry and oily. For example, skin is typically shiny on the forehead, nose and chin, while appearing dry or normal on the cheeks.

Oily Skin: Oily skin refers to skin that has excess oil, most commonly throughout the t-zone of the face (forehead, nose, and chin.) Oily skin tends to look shiny, feel greasy, and is often prone to blemishes and breakouts.

Sensitive Skin: Sensitive skin varies widely from person to person but is often characterized by visible rednessand dryness. Sensitive skin may not always show visible signs and may simply have feelings of discomfort.
