How to decide which type of cleanser suits you - Oil, foam or gel?

According to Dermatologist

Amy Wechsler,

“The whole point of a cleanser is to gently remove dirt, makeup, and sweat, without stripping the natural oils from your skin. It should be relatively simple and straightforward, and it should never sting or burn,”

Facial cleansers usually comes in 3 different forms of textures - oil, foam and gel. With so many different types of cleansers out in the market, how do you know which cleanser is best suited for your skin type? Here's a quick and simple guide to finding the right cleanser!

If you have dry/oily skin...

We recommend you opt for an oil based cleanser. As the name suggests, it is an oil based formula which not only melts your makeup but also nourishes it at the same time. You might be surprised why we recommend an oil-based cleanser for oily skin types. Oil fights oil! The oils found in the cleanser can help to dissolve impurities and bacteria on your skin, without stripping your skin of its much needed moisture. This means that oil production is reduced, leaving your skin less oilier than before.

If you have combination skin..

Opt for a gel cleanser! This is one of the more commonly used cleanser as its water based texture is well liked by everyone. Gel cleansers typically contains Glycerin, which does not dry out your skin after cleansing. Give our gentle yet effective jelly-like textured Kaleanser a try! It doubles up as a makeup remover and contains Kale and Soy extracts. It has also been awarded twice by publications like Her World and Honeycombers.

If you have oily/ combination skin...

We recommend using a cleanser that is of a slightly lighter consistency than gel, which is a foam cleanser! Perfect for those who prefers light texture and consistency. There are many different interesting foam cleansers in the market now, from bubble foam cleanser to the trending Sakura flowered foam cleanser. Make cleansing slightly more interesting by adding a pinch of fun in it!
