How to get rid of large facial pores?
What are pores?
They are small openings on your skin in which oil, sweat and dirt are trapped in it. There are 2 types of pores - sweat pores and oil pores. It allows the oil generated by the sebaceous glands to seep into the skin surface and lubricate the skin. The presence of sebum helps keep our skin healthy and moisturised. However, over production of sebum is not good either as your skin will appear oily.
It is not possible to get rid of pores completely, but it is possible to make them look smaller. Here are 3 simple and effective ways to reduce the appearance of large pores.
1. Wash your face twice a day - day and night
This is the foundation of your skincare routine. Having a clean and clear base to work with is key to wash away oil and dirt from pores. Avoid using hot water as it might cause skin irritation and redness. Use lukewarm water and gently cleanse with clean fingers. Pat-dry your face with a clean towel.
2. Exfoliate!!!
Depending on your skin type, you should exfoliate once-twice a week to remove dirt, oil and dead skin cells that can clog your pores. Do not over exfoliate as it might dry out your skin and amplify the appearance of your pores. Try our Bright Skies Gentle Gel Exfoliator, which is effective in removing dead skin cells - leaving your skin smooth and clean!
3. Apply a clay mask
Clay is known to absorb sebum. Using it twice a week can aid in removing excess oil and sebum from your pores. Give our Garden Party Clay Mask a shot! It is made from Kaolin Clay, one of the mildest and most gentle clay used in skincare products. Removing the excess sebum and oil with the help of a clay mask prevents pores from enlarging.
