Sustainable Beauty: Recycling Skincare Packaging: Tips on how to responsibly recycle Sigi Skin skincare packaging and reduce waste in Singapore.
Take a look at your vanity/beauty shelf and you’d find many of your products to be in reusable packaging. All there’s left is for you to take that initiative.
Sustainability has been the name of the game in the beauty industry especially as of late. And the time is now for you to make conscious decisions too. Here at Sigi Skin, we place sustainability at a high priority and we encourage our customers to do the same! We’ve made all our boxes with 100% recycled materials and our product packaging with 100% recyclable materials! We’re bringing you some ways you can reuse and responsibly recycle your Sigi Skin skincare product packaging to reduce waste:
Plastic bottles: All our bottled products (Calming Breeze, Blissful Radiance, Youth Beam, Idyllic Fields, Dream Capsule, Daylight Oasis, Jumbo Kaleanser, Dew Potion) can be emptied and thrown at your nearest recycling bin. Be sure to clean and rinse it thoroughly before recycling or they may be considered as unrecyclable and end up in the regular bins. Alternatively, fill these bottles with other products (like body lotion, hand cream etc) to make full use of the dispensers and the pretty packaging!
Plastic tubes: For our Morning Glow, Kaleanser, Gentle Gaze and Bright Skies, rinse out the tubes before flattening and recycling them. Be sure to dismantle the tubes and caps, categorising them into their respective bins according to material. For instance, separate the metal tip of Gentle Gaze and the plastic tube into different bins!
Opt to purchase products you love in a jumbo size as opposed to minis to avoid additional packaging waste too. Ultimately, no matter where you’re shopping, consolidate your orders, buy in bulk, and consider your buying decisions carefully to minimise the need for more parcel packaging and carbon footprint. Everyone, brands and consumers alike, can play their part to contribute to sustainability and reduce waste, making our planet a better place.
